Pediatric dentistry relates to dental care specifically for children and adolescents. The Order of Dentists of Quebec recommends that a child's first visit to the dentist take place  before the age of two,  ideally within 6 months of the eruption of the baby's first tooth.

Just like adults, maintaining healthy baby teeth is important. Pediatric dental exams allow your dentist to assess your child's teeth and dental hygiene to provide you with recommendations. Good oral hygiene and balanced nutrition are essential to prevent tooth decay.

During the examination, the dentist will also assess your child's bite (occlusion) and the evolution of the dental eruption. Remember that visiting the dentist at a young age will help accustom them to receiving regular dental care and reinforce its importance.
