Consists of repairing decayed, damaged or badly positioned teeth. The obturation can be done with amalgam for the teeth located behind (less visible) or with white composite resin for the anterior and posterior teeth. The filling also makes it possible to repair broken or infected teeth that can harm the health of the child and thus avoid an extraction.
Once the decay on a baby tooth reaches the pulp (bundle of blood vessels and nerves in the center), a pulpotomy is often necessary. During a pulpotomy, the dentist will remove the decay along with the affected pulp and then place a restoration on the tooth.
